Dear Fellow UA Alumni, Fans and Friends:

We would like to take this time to thank you for your support of the University of Alabama, and of

the Shelby County Alumni Chapter. A new year is upon us and now is the time to start or renew your

support for the Shelby County Chapter.

The purpose of our Chapter is to raise money for scholarships for deserving Shelby County high school

seniors who want to attend the University of Alabama and your support is vital in our efforts to raise

those funds. We would like you to be an integral part of this purpose. We are very proud of the fact

that, thanks to your generosity, we are in the process of fully endowing our 21st Shelby County Chapter

Scholarship! Thank you.

In addition to sending deserving students to the University of Alabama, your Shelby County Chapter will

host several events this year that will bring our membership together for great fun and fellowship,

starting with our Annual Kick Off Event. The theme for this year’s kick off is "BLAST FROM THE PAST",

featuring Linda Knowles, who was Coaches Bryant and Stallings secretary and Eddie Conyers, the

practice official for over 60 years. Both are legends and you do not want to miss it. The date, time and

location for the event is August 17, 2023 at 6:00 p.m. at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church on

Highway 119. There will be a happy hour with beer and wine and dinner will be catered by Joes Italian in

Pelham. It will be a fun evening that you do not want to miss.

In order to continue to support our Shelby County Chapter by renewing your membership. it is critical

that we have your correct e-mail address: This is how we keep you informed throughout the year.

Another way you can support our endeavor is to share this information about the chapter and what the

chapter does. One does not have to be an alumnus or live in Shelby County to be a member of the

chapter, you just have to love the University of Alabama.

If you join or renew by check by mail, make your check payable to "Shelby County Alumni". Please fill

out all of the info on the web site so we can keep you informed of the events throughout the year!

You can sign up the day of the Kickoff Event, but please join before then! It makes it so much easier for

us, plus we know more accurately how many people to anticipate.

The chapter has a tailgate tent that is set up on University Blvd east of the University President’s

residence for all home games. Please make plans to join us for that event. Please feel free to contact any
